One of the most prolific artists in history, Buckethead is a virtuoso guitarist and multi-instrumentalist whose music spans such diverse genres as progressive metal, funk, blues, jazz, bluegrass, and avant-garde. As part of his theatrical persona, Buckethead famously wears an expressionless white mask and a literal bucket on his head with an orange bumper sticker that reads “FUNERAL.” The character of Buckethead was “raised by chickens,” and he’s made it his mission to protect chickens from being slaughtered for fast-food consumption. He regularly whips out nunchucks on stage and breaks out into robot dancing.
Outside of his onstage antics, Buckethead has earned a tremendous amount of respect for his electric guitar shredding, being voted by GuitarOne magazine as one of the “Top 10 Greatest Guitar Shredders of All Time.” He’s released more than 700 studio-recorded albums, with 650+ releasing as part of his “Pikes” series, and he shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
