Anderson, IN, June 14, 2024: The Anderson Museum of Art (AMOA) proudly awarded
the first-, second-, and third-place winners of its newest exhibition, Intertwined II: A
Contemporary Fibers Exhibit, during an opening reception held on June 13, 2024.
Winners are as follows
First Place: Susan Yanos, When Grief Comes as Wolf Disguised
Second Place: Sarah K. Jones, The Magical Backyard of Jeanne H. Steele J.
Third Place: Vernon Bedel, Interlocking Progression
Intertwined II: A Contemporary Fibers Exhibit is a dual exhibition, including works of
featured artists and a juried selection open to artisans whose exhibit submissions reflect
a wide range of works related to the fiber medium. This year’s incredible featured fiber
artists include Martina Celerin, Constance Collins, Anne McKenzie Nickolson, and
Daren Redman.
The exhibition aims to include innovative work rooted in traditional fiber materials,
structure, processes, history, and art that explores unexpected relationships between
fiber and other creative disciplines.
AMOA thanks exhibition judge Carrie Wright for her time and effort in reviewing every
submitted piece. Carrie is a silk painter who constantly explores new ways of
expressing her ideas through her art. As a student of multiple disciplines, she loves to
combine ancient and completely innovative silk painting techniques. To learn more

The public is invited to experience this innovative exhibition through August 2, 2024.
AMOA is open Wednesday-Friday 12-5 pm, Saturday 10 am- 5 pm, and Sunday 2-5
pm.

Located in downtown Anderson’s historic Carnegie Library building, the Anderson Museum of Art hosts
various local, regional, and national art exhibitions. In keeping with our mission statement – “To engage
the community in the visual arts” – we endeavor to be an integral part of the growing art community
