Honeywell Arts & Entertainment Announces Winter Banner Competition 2023 Selections

Honeywell Arts & Entertainment Announces Winter Banner Competition 2023 Selections

Wabash County entries on display at the Honeywell Center through Dec. 11

Wabash, Ind. – Honeywell Arts In Education, an educational offering of Honeywell Arts & Entertainment, celebrated student artists in Wabash and Miami counties with receptions for the annual Winter Banner Competition. Each winter, schools in both counties submit original winter artwork by students of all ages. Select entries are made into holiday street banners to decorate light poles in downtown Wabash, North Manchester, and Peru. All Wabash County entries are on display in the Clark Gallery at the Honeywell Center through December 11. The Wabash County competition is sponsored by the Robert and Peggy McCallen Banner Contest Endowment, with Miami County sponsored by First Bank of Berne with additional support provided by the Beta Gamma Chapter of Psi Iota Xi.

The arts have a proven, substantial impact during formative years by improving academic performance, motor skills, confidence, creativity, focus, and collaboration. Honeywell Arts In Education is a collection of programs created for educators to reap these developmental benefits in the classroom. Programs are offered at little or no cost to the schools, allowing all students to participate regardless of socioeconomic situations. A complimentary component to school art classes, exhibits and contests featuring original student artwork are held throughout the school year.
